Heart-shaped jelly hand soap DIY

By Guapologa February 13, 2017

For a quick and cute home-made present or a lovely Valentine’s detail in your wash room, this jelly hand soaps are the perfect craft for it.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 packet (one bag) of powdered unflavored gelatine
  • 1/4 cup of body wash
  • A small pot
  • Food colorant
  • 1 silicon mold in the desired shape. I used a hear shaped one.

Directions:

  1. Pour the water into the pot and wait until it is boiling. Turn off the flame
  2. Add one packet of gelatine to the boiling water and mix it well until it is completely mixed.
  3. Add the body wash to the liquid and keep mixing it.
  4. Add food coloring to the mix, as much as you want.
  5. Fill the silicone molds with the liquid mix. Tip: Put the silicone mold over a firmer tray, so you can better avoid spills once it is filled.
  6. Get it to the fridge for, at least, 3 hours. Move the mold to the freezer for one more hour.
  7. Take the mold out of the fridge and carefully separate the jellies from the mold. Be careful when separating them from the silicone mold, as the jellies are easy to damage with your nails or any other tool you may use.
  8. Pack with wax paper or put them by the sink and you are all set!

What I like the most of these jellies is that they smell delicious and all of the ingredients are fantastic for skin. I have been trying to take better care of my hands but, even wearing sunscreen and applying hand lotion, they look dry and chapped. I discovered that hand soap is the one thing that most dries out hand skin, but this jellies are much softer and hydrating than the usual soaps available at any marketplace.

Do this DIY for yourself and for your loved ones. Also, it is a great way to make kids to wash their hands with no fuzz, which (the no fuzz, that is) is the most valuable gift I can get from my child.
